DALLAS – The UNT women's basketball team's American Athletic Conference schedule for the 2024-25 season was announced Wednesday by the conference office.
Coming off the winningest season in program history, which included a share of the team's first conference championship since 1986, the Mean Green will start their title defense on the road against Wichita State on Dec. 29.
The Mean Green will then bring in the new year with their first league home game against co-champion from last season, Tulsa, on Jan. 1.
A two-game road trip will follow as UNT makes its first ever trip to Elma Roane Fieldhouse to take on Memphis on Jan. 4 before heading to New Orleans for a matchup with Tulane on Jan. 8.
The first of three multi-game home stands will begin Jan. 11 when North Texas hosts South Florida. Rice and Wichita State will also travel to Denton for games on Jan. 15 and Jan. 18 during the longest home stretch of conference play for UNT.
A pair of trips to The Sunshine State with a home game versus Temple in between will take the Mean Green into February. UNT will travel to Boca Raton to play Florida Atlantic Jan. 25 before making a return trip to USF on Feb. 1. Meanwhile, the home matchup will bring Temple to The Super Pit for the first time on Jan. 29.
Following the trip to Tampa, UNT will head to UTSA for a midweek contest on Feb. 4. The Mean Green will then have a stretch of three games in six days beginning with home contests against Tulane (Feb. 9) and Memphis (Feb. 12), then traveling to Tulsa (Feb. 15).
One week later, North Texas will be at East Carolina for just the second time in program history on Feb. 22. The final home stand of the year will be Feb. 26 and March 1 with games against Charlotte and UAB. UNT's final regular season game will take place at Tudor Fieldhouse against Rice on March 4.
