Bishop Named AAC Freshman Of The Week

DALLAS — UNT soccer goalkeeper Hicks Bishop was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday.
The Austin native shutout No. 16 Memphis on Sunday with a season-high five saves including two clutch stops in the second half.
The freshman was inserted into the starting role three matches ago and this past week led her Mean Green side to a draw at Charlotte on Thursday and then her stellar performance Sunday versus the nationally ranked Tigers.
Coming out of high school, Bishop was tabbed by TopDrawerSoccer as one of the Top 25 goalkeepers in the class of 2024 in each of the last three seasons. Bishop helped lead her prep school IMG Academy to back-to-back Girls Academy League national semifinal appearances and a national runner-up finish.
UNT concludes the regular season on Thursday at UAB and then begins the 2024 AAC Tournament on Nov. 4 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
