
Volleyball Records Road Loss at Temple

PHILADELPHIA – UNT volleyball fell 3-0 at Temple on Sunday afternoon at McGonigle Hall.
The loss drops the Mean Green (8-17, 5-9) to 11th place in the American Athletic Conference as the Owls (13-15, 5-9) moved ahead in the standings with the three-set victory (20-25, 25-27, 21-25) on Sunday.
UNT closed each set with feverish comeback attempts including a 5-1 run in the first and an 11-3 push that tied the second at 24-24.
Junior Payton Van Veen featured heavily in the match as she led UNT with 10 kills and 35 attacks. For the season, she has led the Mean Green in kills in eight matches, including each of the past four.
Kamryn Scroggins tallied her 10th double-double of the season as she finished with 22 assists and 11 digs, leading UNT in both categories. The junior setter has recorded double-doubles in five of the past six matches.
Redshirt sophomore Loredana Fouonji made her first career start and finished with four kills on seven attacks with zero hitting errors and a new career high of five blocks. Fouonji tied fellow middle blocker Ryann Vik for the match high in blocks at five apiece.
