Pair of UNT players honored for academic success
IRVING, Texas – A pair of UNT football players who recently completed their athletic eligibility were honored for their impressive performances in the classroom as Carson Kropp and Noah Rauschenberg were named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the NFF announced Wednesday.
The duo was honored as graduated players who attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0) and were starters or significant contributors throughout the 2023 season.
Kropp, who graduated with a degree in Applied Arts & Sciences with an emphasis in Recreation & Sport Leadership, adds another academic honor to his impressive resume that already featured a pair of CSC Academic All-District selections.
On the field, Kropp appeared in all 39 games in his three-year career at UNT. He had the best season of his career his senior season in 2023 with 36 tackles, 1.5 TFLs and an interception.
Rauschenberg, meanwhile, graduated with a degree in Exercise Physiology.
This season with the Mean Green, Rauschenberg was fantastic, earning CFN Third Team All-America honors while also being named a First Team All-AAC selection (Phil Steele). He finished the 2023 season as the best kickoff man in the country (91.0 touchback percentage) and went 16 for 19 on FG opportunities while hitting every one of his 46 extra point attempts.
The NFF Hampshire Honor Society builds upon the NFF's National Scholar-Athlete program by greatly expanding the number of student-athletes the NFF can recognize each year. Jon F. Hanson, the chairman and founder of The Hampshire Companies and NFF Chairman Emeritus, provided the funds to launch the NFF Hampshire Honor Society in 2007. Celebrating its 18th year in 2024, the initiative has previously honored 16,398 student-athletes since its inception. Click here for more information.
