Six Named to CSC Academic All-District

DENTON - Six Mean Green soccer players were named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
The honor, which is reserved for those with at least a 3.50 GPA and who played in 90% of their team's matches or started 66% of them, highlights both academic performance and performance on the pitch.
Seniors Abi Major, Peyton Renfro and Rachel Roebuck, along with junior Georgia Guenther and sophomores Hannah Phillips and Beya Rosales all earned the All-District recognition.
Major, a multi-year team captain, finished her Mean Green career with 75 matches played, including 56 starts as a stalwart on the team's back line. She finished her career with over 5,000 minutes logged and three assists and will earn her MBA in Finance. Roebuck, a four-year captain, played in 73 career matches for UNT and made 71 starts as a versatile player who spent most of her time at center back but also played up top and was a lethal goal scorer at times. She finished her career with 13 goals and 14 assists while going 4-for-5 from the penalty spot in her career. She logged almost 6,000 career minutes at UNT and is working on her post-baccalaureate in history.
Renfro played in 65 career matches and made 50 starts while moving into more of an offensive role as a senior to score her first three goals of her career to go with her nine career assists while playing a career-high 1,224 minutes this season. She will graduate with an MBA. Guenther played in all 20 matches in her first season in Denton and made nine starts while logging nearly 1,000 minutes. She finished with two assists as a key figure in UNT's back line. She is majoring in Applied Arts & Sciences.
Phillips logged almost 1,400 minutes as a sophomore and started 12 matches while playing in all 20 as a central figure of UNT's defense. She is majoring in biology. Rosales made seven starts and played in all 20 matches as a long defender in UNT's back line. She is majoring in biology.
