Mean Green to play program record 18 home matches in Spring 2026
DENTON, Texas — North Texas tennis and head coach Amanda Stone have officially released the 2026 spring dual-match schedule, highlighted by a program-record 15 home matches at the Waranch Tennis Complex — the most home contests in Mean Green history.
The 2026 slate features a deep and competitive mix of non-conference and American Conference opponents, including traditional regional rivals, Power-Five challenges, and marquee home weekends throughout February and March.
North Texas opens the spring on the road, traveling to Fort Worth to compete in the TCU Invite before beginning dual action. The Mean Green then return to Denton for a four-match home stand across late January, starting with the home opener against Houston/UIW on January 23. UNT will then host Rice (1/30), and Northwestern State (1/31) as they settle into early-season play.
February brings a balanced mix of home and road action. The Mean Green stay in Denton to host SFA on Feb. 6 and TCU on Feb. 8. North Texas returns home to face LA Tech/Weatherford in a Valentine's Day doubleheader on Feb. 14, then hits the road again for a trip to Abilene to take on ACU (2/20). The month closes with a return to the Waranch Tennis Complex on February 27, where UNT hosts Texas State.
March opens with another strong homestand. The Mean Green host FIU on March 1 before heading out on a two-match road trip to Birmingham, beginning with UAB (3/6) and followed by Tulane (3/7) at the same site. North Texas then returns to Denton for a five-match home stretch featuring a pair of doubleheaders Butler/ORU on (3/11), Iowa State/UCO on (3/16), and rival UTSA on March 27. The Mean Green close the month on the road, traveling to Tulsa for a March 29 matchup against Tulsa.
April begins with a pivotal three-match homestand. North Texas hosts Liberty on April 3, followed by Wichita State on April 5 and ACU on April 9, all at the Waranch Tennis Complex. The Mean Green then hit the road for a short trip to Stephenville to face Tarleton State on April 10. Following the conclusion of the regular season, UNT will shift its focus to postseason play at the American Championship in Houston, held April 16–19.
Admission to all UNT tennis home matches is free and fans are encouraged to come and cheer for the Mean Green.
