UNT Accepts Bid to 2025 Isleta New Mexico Bowl

Mean Green to compete in 16th Bowl Game in Program History
DENTON, Texas – The UNT football program has accepted an invitation to play in the 2025 Isleta New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and will take on San Diego State from the Mountain West Conference. The game will be played on December 27 at 4:45 PM CT at University Stadium and will be broadcast on ESPN.
North Texas finished the season with a school record 11 wins and earned a spot in the American Conference title game. The Mean Green have the No. 1 total offense and scoring offense in the nation.
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome the North Texas Mean Green back to Albuquerque for the 20th Annual Isleta New Mexico," said Executive Director Jeff Siembieda. "The Mean Green put together a phenomenal season and I'm looking forward to their opportunity to finish it off in style against a really good San Diego State team."
It is the 16th bowl appearance all-time for the Mean Green and eighth in the last 10 seasons. UNT is 3-12 in postseason bowl games with the last win coming in the 2014 Heart of Dallas Bowl.

UNT has faced off with San Diego State seven times in program history but have not faced the Aztecs since 1975. SDSU leads the series 6-1 all-time.
North Texas' first and only appearance in the New Mexico Bowl was in 2018 against Utah State when the Aggies, led by Jordan Love, knocked off UNT 52-13.
The New Mexico Bowl has been played at University Stadium annually since 2006. The matchup between UNT and SDSU will be the 20th all-time in the history of the bowl.
A team from Texas has played in the New Mexico Bowl five times in the last six years, including TCU defeating Louisiana 34-3 last season.
