DENTON, Texas — Following one of the most storied careers in program history, former UNT women's basketball star Tommisha Lampkin will head to Turkey to play professionally with Burhaniye Belediyespor of the Turkish Women's Basketball League.
Lampkin was a first team all-conference selection in consecutive seasons to round out her career in Denton. She holds the program record in career rebounds, double doubles and games played, while also ranking in the top three in scoring, field goal percentage and blocked shots.
The Manfield, Texas, native saw her numbers skyrocket in her final two seasons under Jason Burton. Lampkin averaged 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in the 2023-24 season before following it up with 16.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game as a senior. She became the first UNT player to average a double double on the season since Nikki Ryan did so in the 1993-94 campaign.
Over her five seasons with the Mean Green, Lampkin played in 141 games with 85 starts. She scored 1,575 points, collected 943 rebounds and blocked 128 shots.
Lampkin is the third Mean Green player under Burton to sign a professional contract overseas, joining DesiRay Kernal of Greece's Pas Giannena and Dyani Robinson of KK Kriva Palanka in North Macedonia.
