SportsCenter to air live at 4 p.m. outside DATCU Stadium
DENTON, Texas – UNT Athletics is set to host ESPN's 'SportsCenter on Campus' on Thursday, Oct. 29, prior to its nationally televised football game against Florida Atlantic.
With anchor Matt Barrie serving as host, 'SportsCenter on Campus' takes ESPN's flagship program to college campuses on Thursdays throughout the college football season, capturing the atmosphere, traditions and storylines surrounding that week's matchup.
The show will air live at 4 p.m. from just outside Gate 4 on the east side of DATCU Stadium. Barrie will be joined by former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel as part of ESPN's coverage leading up to kickoff. Mean Green students, faculty and fans are encouraged to attend the show to be part of the live broadcast and help showcase the excitement and passion surrounding UNT Athletics.
UNT has never hosted ESPN's 'SportsCenter on Campus' series.
Shortly after the live show, North Texas then takes on Florida Atlantic at 6:30 p.m. inside DATCU Stadium. The game will be aired on ESPN, marking UNT's third regular season game ever shown on the main network. It faced Tulsa on ESPN earlier this month, as well as Temple in the 2025 regular season finale.
Dating back to that Temple game on Nov. 28, 2025, six of UNT's last 11 contests have aired on either ESPN, ABC or FOX. It is also one of just four teams in the country to have played on both ESPN main and FOX Big Noon Kickoff this season.
The first 500 students at SportsCenter's live broadcast will receive a free black rally towel, and all fans in attendance are encouraged to wear black in celebration of the Halloweentown, TX game theme. Fans can enjoy additional pregame festivities at Mean Green Live, including Happy Hour specials that run until 6:00 p.m.
Tickets for Thursday's game are still available at MeanGreenTickets.com, while current UNT students can claim their complimentary ticket at UNTTix.com. For more information, contact the Mean Green ticket office at 940-565-2527 or at ticketoffice@unt.edu.
