Women’s Basketball Collects Three Academic All-District Selections

DENTON, Texas – For the first time in program history, the UNT women's basketball team received three selections to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, it was announced Tuesday.
The record-setting group included Mekhia Chase, Tionna Lidge and Andi Schissler, who all received the honor for the first time in their careers. Together, they surpassed the program's previous high of two back in 2002 and marked its first selections since Jaylen Mallard in 2024.
Recognized for their performances in the classroom and on the court, those named to the Academic All-District Team maintained at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average while either competing in 90% or starting 66% of their team's games.
