Mean Green Complete Weekend at 44 Farms Invitational

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The UNT track and field program completed a successful weekend at the 44 Farms Invitational, setting numerous personal bests and capturing a pair of individual championships.
North Texas opened the weekend with a dominant performance in the women's 5,000 meters as Aubrey Milam took gold and Aditi Silwal was close behind in second. Making her collegiate debut in the event, Milam won with a time of 17:11.43.
Oluwatimilehim Williams then gave the Mean Green their second title of the weekend in discus, besting the field with a throw of 58.24 meters. Friday's action also saw Aniyah Harrison-Stewart set a personal record and take second in the long jump at 6.11 meters, as well as a third-place finish by Nolan House in the 5,000 meters.
The following day, UNT received fourth-place finishes in shot put from both Justin Craft Jr. and Ava Roberts. In addition, the Mean Green women's 4x100 relay team placed second while Hunter Hendry was runner-up in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. The men's and women's 4x400 relay teams also closed the weekend well in second and fifth, respectively.
In all, UNT athletes combined for 16 top-five finishes and 13 personal bests.
North Texas returns to competition next weekend when it hosts the Bill Schmidt Invite in Denton. The two-day event begins Friday and concludes Saturday.
