Subsomboon Makes Moves In NCAA Regional

WACO – UNT women's golfers Malisone Chanthapanya and Bouquet Subsomboon concluded the second round of the NCAA Waco Regional on Tuesday held at Ridgewood Country Club.
Subsomboon made a five-shot improvement on Tuesday from her first-round score. The junior shot a 71 (+1) on Tuesday to bring her two-round total to a 147. She jumped up six spots on the player leaderboard and ended the second round in 44th place.
Subsomboon on Tuesday birdied four holes. She was 3-under on the front nine.
Chanthapanya made a one stroke improvement on Tuesday from her first-round score. The senior shot a 72 (+2) to bring her two-round total to 145. She is in a tie for 39th after Tuesday.
The Mean Green women's golfers aim to continue to make improvements on Wednesday for the final round of the NCAA Regional tournament.
The NCAA committee selected 72 teams (including automatic qualifiers) and 36 individuals (including automatic qualifiers) not on those teams for participation at one of the six regional sites. Each regional site is comprised of 12 teams and six individuals (not on one of the selected teams). Five teams and the leading individual not on an advancing team from each regional site shall advance to the final site. Regional play will take place May 11-13 at six regional sites, and the national championship tournament will be held from May 22-27 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
