DENTON, Texas — The UNT track and field teams are set to compete at the 2026 American Conference Outdoor Championships and will have homefield advantage as the meet will be hosted by UNT at Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium beginning on Thursday and concluding on Saturday.
The women's team is coming off an Indoor season which saw them claim the first conference championship since 2005, when they were a member of the Sun Belt, and the men are also entering the meet following a successful outdoor season with a shot at a team championship of their own.
The men and women have combined to set seven new program Outdoor records this season and have earned four American Conference Athlete of the Week honors, which is the most for the program since 2013, when the Mean Green had five weekly award winners as a member of the Sun Belt.
The Mean Green have five athletes who enter the meet as the top qualifier in respective events: Aariyana Williams (400), Chase Lehr (800), Marcus Kennedy (high jump), Oluwatimilehim Williams (discus), Jason Patrick (hammer throw) - and several others are in the top three entering the championships.
The meet will begin on Thursday with the women's hammer throw and the decathlon and heptathlon events before track trials adn the 10,000-meter run finals in the evening. All three days will be broadcast on ESPN+ and live results can be found here.
