WACO – The UNT women's golf season came to an end Wednesday at the NCAA Waco Regional as Malisone Chanthapanya and Bouquet Subsomboon didn't advance to the Championship.
The Mean Green golfers were competing as individuals and needed to finish first among all players who were not on an advancing team. Chanthapanya tied for 37th at the Waco Regional. The senior shot a 217 (+7) over the three-round regional. Her North Texas teammate Subsomboon, a junior, shot a 222 (+12) and tied for 48th.
TCU's Kirstin Angosta punched her ticket to the NCAA Championship as the individual. Her Horned Frogs team failed to advance but Angosta shot a 204 (-6) and was the regional's outright runner-up.
Chanthapanya concludes her senior season as one for the record books. The former three-time NAIA All-American at Texas Wesleyan transferred to North Texas in 2024. This year the Fort Worth native had two runner-up finishes and on Oct. 20, 2025, she broke the program record for the lowest 18-hole score as she shot a 64 at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club.
Subsomboon and Chanthapanya became the first UNT women's golfers to be selected to a NCAA Regional as individuals since 2019.
