UNT set to compete in high level individual tournaments in the fall
DENTON, Texas – The UNT tennis team has revealed its fall schedule under fourth-year head coach Amanda Stone with high-level tournaments for individual play.
UNT returns seven players from the 2025-26 season that saw the Mean Green post an impressive 17-9 overall record including fourth-year senior leaders Carolina Laydner, Lilly Schultz and Lou Chalard who have all been with Coach Stone since she arrived prior to the 2023-24 season.
The Mean Green open the fall campaign with three different tournaments the weekend of Sept. 18-20 as the team will be split between the ACU Invite in Abilene, the Lumberjack Classic hosted by NAU in Flagstaff, Arizona and the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, NC. Individuals traveling to each event will be determined at a later date as only select student-athletes are invited to compete in the All-American Championship.
The work in the fall continues Oct. 8-12 at the ITA Regional in Fort Worth where players will be competing to earn a spot in the ITA Sectional, ITA Masters and the NCAA Championship tournaments later in the year.
Next, UNT will send select athletes to Houston to compete in the American Conference Individual Championships hosted by Rice Oct. 22-25. Those not competing in the American Championships will travel to Fort Worth for the TCU Invite Oct. 23-25.
The fall regular season wraps up Nov. 6-8 with the Hurricane Invite in Tulsa, Okla.
