DENTON – Senior running back Jahiem White is quickly making a name for himself in his first season with the Mean Green.

In his fourth game with the program, White rushed for four first-half touchdowns and ran for 133 yards on just 11 carries en route to a dominant 63-14 win over Houston Christian on Saturday night at DATCU Stadium.

"He's a good player," UNT head coach Neal Brown said of White. "He's probably the best player on the field, so he should play well. I was glad we could get him out at halftime so he didn't have to play in the second half and we could rest him up."

White wasn't the only UNT offensive star to call it a day early, as starting quarterback Tayven Jackson continued his run of great play with a 16-for-18 passing day for 270 yards and a touchdown. His 88.9% completion percentage is the second-highest mark in program history with a minimum of 10 pass attempts, and his 233.2 passer rating in the game is the 10th best in program history.

Jackson gave way to sophomore quarterbacks Chaston Ditta and Chris Jimerson Jr., who each tossed a touchdown pass in the game to make UNT the second FBS team this season to have three players throw at least one touchdown pass, matching what Ohio State did earlier in the season against Ball State.

"Tayven is playing at a really high level," Brown said. "I'm proud of him because he's preparing continuously. I really think he's an NFL quarterback. Chaston is playing really well when he's had the opportunity, and I'm glad Chris got out and showed people he can throw, because he can."

The defense did its part, as well, after a slow start that saw Houston Christian tie the game at 14 early in the second quarter.

The Mean Green held the Huskies to 222 total yards and held them scoreless from the time they tied it at 14-14 at the 11:58 mark in the second quarter, while adding a score of their own with a 34-yard interception return for a touchdown by junior cornerback Jaden Allen that gave the Mean Green a 56-14 lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

"We didn't play well last week, especially on the defensive side," Brown said. "We didn't start well tonight, but I was really pleased with how we responded. It was good to have some adversity, and I thought our defense responded well."

The Mean Green will play on a short week when they travel to Tulsa on Thursday for both teams' American Conference opener, which is set to kick at 8 p.m.

The Mean Green win gives them a 2-0 advantage in the series. The only other meeting came in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, when UNT won 57-31.
The 49-point margin of victory was the largest for UNT since a 51-0 win over Lamar on Aug. 30, 2025.

The Mean Green entered the season with 70 newcomers, which puts UNT at 215 new players over the past three seasons – good for the most in FBS in that time.

The 648 total yards was the seventh-most in program history.
The game marked the first time since at least 1995 that UNT has had three different players with a passing touchdown in the same game.

UNT had 10 players catch at least one pass in a game, which is a season high.

Fifth-year QB Tayven Jackson (Greenwood, Ind.) finished 16 for 18 for 270 yards passing with a touchdown.
- Jackson completed 88.9% of his pass attempts, which is the second-highest completion percentage in program history, with a minimum of 10 pass attempts, finishing just shy of Derek Thompson's 89.3% on Sept. 15, 2012 at Kansas State.
- Jackson's 233.2 passer rating ranks 10th in program history with a 10-pass attempt minimum.
- Jackson's 14-yard touchdown pass to TJ Chukwurah with 13:34 left in the third quarter was the sixth of his UNT career and 22nd of his career.
Sophomore QB Chris Jimerson Jr. (Fort Worth, Texas) finished the day 2 for 2 passing for 55 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 41 yards on four carries.
- Jimerson's 41-yard touchdown pass to Justin Stevenson with 8:13 left in the first half was the second of his career and first of the season.
Sophomore QB Chaston Ditta (Austin, Texas) finished the day 7 for 8 passing for 75 yards and a touchdown and he added a rushing score.
- Ditta's 17-yard touchdown pass to Baron Tipton with 1:20 left in the third quarter was his first of the season and of his UNT career, and the fourth of his career.
- Ditta's 4-yard touchdown run with 7:39 left to play was the first of his career.
Senior RB Jaheim White (York, Pa.) finished the day with 11 carries for 133 yards and four touchdowns and added three catches for 17 yards – all in the first half.
- White's 133 rushing yards marked his ninth career 100-yard rushing day and his second for UNT.
- White's 12.1 yards per carry is the eighth-best mark for a UNT player since 2000 with a minimum of 10 carries.
- White is the only player in The American with three games this season of at least 100 total yards from scrimmage.
- White's four touchdowns in the game marked the first time in his career he's had three or more touchdowns.
- White's four rushing touchdowns marked the first time this season he's had multiple rushing scores in a game.
- White's four touchdowns marked the sixth game of his college career with multiple touchdowns and his third consecutive.
- Entering Saturday's game, only one other FBS player had four rushing touchdowns in a game this season – Memphis' Jaylin Carter against Arkansas State.
- White's four first-half rushing touchdowns marked the first time a UNT player has had four in the first half since Caleb Hawkins did it against UAB on Nov. 15, 2025, when he finished with a program record five rushing scores.
- White's 24-yard touchdown run on UNT's first drive of the day was his fourth of the season and 18th of his career. It was his sixth overall touchdown of the season and 23rd of his career.
- White's 47-yard touchdown run with 7:42 left in the first quarter was his fifth of the season and 19th of his career. It was his seventh overall touchdown of the season and 24th of his career. The 47-yarder was also the longest play from scrimmage this season for UNT.
- White's 3-yard touchdown run with 10:06 left in the first half was his sixth rushing touchdown of the season and 20th of his career. It was his eighth overall touchdown of the year and 25th of his career.
- White's 7-yard touchdown run with 1:15 left in the first half was his seventh rushing touchdown of the season and 21st of his career. It was his ninth overall touchdown of the year and 26th of his career.

- Barker's 1.5 sacks is a single-game career high and gives him two on the season and four in his career.
Junior LB Cedric Roberts (Fort Valley, Ga.) finished the day with four tackles, including three solo stops.
Junior DB James Cross Jr. (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished the day with three tackles, including two solo stops, a half-sack and 1.5 tackles for-loss.
- Cross' second-quarter half-sack was the first of his career.
Fifth-year DL Davion Rhodes (Camilla, Ga.) finished the day with two tackles – both solo – a sack, two tackles for-loss and a forced fumble.
