Dozier Dean was named the inside wide receivers coach for UNT football in December of 2025.

Dean joins the UNT staff after spending four seasons on staff at the University of Texas. Working primarily with wide receivers, Dean was elevated to offensive assistant / passing game specialist in 2025. He spent the 2022-24 seasons as an offensive analyst.

Across four seasons with the Longhorns, Dean helped Texas earn a trip to four consecutive bowl games and back-to-back College Football Playoff semifinal appearances in 2023 and 2024.

Working directly with WRs, Dean helped develop a total of four all-conference players at the position including a pair of NFL First Round picks in Xavier Worthy (2023) and Matthew Golden (2024) as well as 2023 Second Round pick Adonai Mitchell.

In 2025, Dean helped Texas finish the season 9-3 and was key in the development of Second Team All-SEC selection Ryan Wingo. He was also instrumental in helping WR Parker Livingstone finish 14th in FBS averaging over 18.0 yards per reception.

The 2024 season saw the Longhorns post a 13-3 overall record and earn a trip to the CFP for the second consecutive year where they knocked off Clemson and Arizona State in the first two rounds to become the only team in FBS to be one of the final four teams left playing in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024.

Dozier helped Texas finish the season with the No. 14 passing offense in the nation, led by Golden who finished the year with nine receiving touchdowns, the most in the SEC.

In 2023, Texas won the Big 12 with a 12-2 overall record to punch their ticket to the CFP. The Longhorns posted the No. 17 passing offense in the nation and averaged 477.5 yards of total offense, the ninth best in the country.

In the receiver room, the Longhorns had three players selected in the NFL draft with Worthy (1st Round), Mitchell (2nd Round) and Jordan Whittington (6th Round). It was the first time in the program’s history to have three WRs drafted in the same draft.

In his first year at Texas, Dean helped the Horns earn a berth in the Valero Alamo Bowl. With Dean’s input, Worthy earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors.

Prior to joining the staff at Texas, Dean was a student assistant under Sarkisian at Alabama.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Alabama in 2021.
