• Named to the 2013 Conference USA Football All-Academic team
• Earned 2013 Capital One Academic All-District VII honors

• Was a two-time first-team all-district selection and a two-time first-team all-district academic pick in 2007 and 2008
• Named first-team all-state in 2008 as he recorded a school record 10 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, and 94 overall tackles
• Attended the U.S. Army All-American combine as a junior
• Was a second-team all-state pick in 2007 as a defensive end
• Was named Honorable Mention in District 17-3A as an offensive tackle in 2006
• A multi-sport star, was a two-time state qualifier in 2007 and 2008 in the discus and a 2009 state qualifier in the shot put
