Olivia Hunt is in her second season as the Director of Recruiting and Player Development for UNT women’s basketball. She comes to UNT after spending one season as an assistant coach at Austin College.
While working with UNT’s post players alongside Durmon Jennings, Hunt assists with analytical evaluations for the team and recruiting.
The Mean Green went 23-9 with Hunt on staff in the 2023-24 season. They recorded the most conference wins and overall wins in program history to clinch a share of the AAC regular season championship and earn a birth to the WBIT.
North Texas wasted no time topping their winningest season ever, finishing the 2024-25 campaign with a 25-9 record and a 15-3 mark in conference play. Hunt's coaching helped Tommisha Lampkin become a two-time first team all-conference selection and cap off one of the greatest careers in UNT history, regardless of sport.
Prior to her time with the Roos, Hunt served as the assistant coach for the University of Texas-Dallas from 2018-22. While at UTD, Hunt was named the TABC Small College Assistant Coach of the Year following the 2019-20 campaign.
In four seasons with the Comets, Hunt helped UTD post an impressive 51-17 record while producing a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and the 2018-19 American Southwest Conference Regular Season title.
In 2018-19, Hunt worked as an assistant coach for the Texas A&M-Commerce women’s basketball team for head coach Jason Burton. During her one season with the Lions she helped lead that program to its first NCAA Division II Tournament appearance in more than 10 years.
Hunt was also a player Austin College and was a two-time winner of the Brittany Simpson Award, given annually to the women’s basketball player who exhibits attributes which support and encourage her teammates, is energetic, a competitor, and selfless in her role as a member of the team.
In addition, Hunt earned the Brittany Simpson Scholarship upon graduation, enabling her to earn her master’s degree from AC. Hunt served as a graduate assistant under head coach Michelle Filander while earning her master’s.
As a player and graduate assistant at Austin College, Hunt helped guide the ‘Roos to a record of 82-48. Along with her duties as the women’s assistant basketball coach, Hunt also served as an assistant for athletics communications. As a student at Austin College, she was a four-time Tim Calvert Sports Information Intern, and during the spring of 2018 worked as an Academic Persistence Monitor for the ‘Roo athletics department.
Hunt earned her undergraduate degree in 2017 and her master’s degree in 2018, both from Austin College.
