Adam Campbell begins his third season as an assistant coach on the UNT volleyball staff after joining the program in January 2024.

Last season, Campbell helped the Mean Green reach 20 wins for the first time since 2017 as they compiled a 21-8 overall record. That marked an 11-win improvement from the year prior and the third best winning percentage (.700) in program history. UNT’s success carried into American Conference play as well, going 11-5 and finishing fourth in the regular season standings despite being voted 11th in the preseason coaches’ poll.

Individually, middle blocker Loredana Fouonji and setter Alexa Washington both put together fantastic seasons that saw Fouonji earn Second Team All-Conference honors and Washington complete the year as one of nine NCAA players with 100+ kills, 600+ assists and 300+ digs.

In Campell’s first season on staff, North Texas captured its 15th consecutive conference tournament appearance after a seven-win American campaign. The league slate included victories over American tournament champions Wichita State and regular season runners-up Rice. UNT also increased year-over-year marks in hitting percentage, service aces per set and digs per set while middle blocker Ryann Vik earned placement on the American Conference All-Freshman Team.

Campbell was promoted to technical coordinator at Marquette in 2023 after serving as a volunteer assistant coach the year prior. Over his two seasons, the Golden Eagles accumulated a 50-15 record with consecutive Big East regular season titles and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the regional semifinals in 2022. Campbell coached 11 All-Conference selections, five AVCA All-Region honorees and one AVCA All-American while there.

Prior to his two-year stint at Marquette, Campbell was the assistant program director and summer camp director for Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club. He also served as the technical director for setting and coached with Platform Elite Volleyball Club in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Campbell played setter and defensive specialist for the St. Ambrose men’s varsity volleyball team before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English education in 2020. He then completed his master’s in organizational leadership in 2022 while serving as a graduate assistant on staff. During that time, Campbell coached five All-Conference performers and one NAIA All-American selection.
