McKernan Races to a Fifth-Place Finish in SHSU Invitational

HUNTSVILLE (10/18/03) -- Bonnie McKernan had a great run at the Sam Houston State Invitational as she had a time of 18:12 to place fifth overall to lead the North Texas cross country team to a fourth place finish.
Dagmar Salazar also had a top 10 finish as she ran a time of 18:33 to finish in seventh place in the 3 mile race. Cassie Storms was 13th overall with a time of 18:58. Jordan Skelton had a time of 19:27 and Jill Brennan hada time of 19:59.
North Texas as a team placed fourth overall out of nine team with a score of 91. Tulane was the overall winner of the meet.
The Mean Green will now gear up for the Sun Belt Conference Championship on November 1 in Bowling Green, Ky.
