Mean Green Track Shines In Season's First Home Meet

TCU managed to hold its own, recording three Fouts Field records and seven individual event wins.
The Mean Green was led by Stephanie Womack, who brought home first place and a school record in the pole vault. The freshman’s jump of 10-feet-11-3/4-inches best the mark set by Jessica Moore last season.
Returning to form from the 2005 season, the men’s 4x100-meter relay team scorched its way to an NCAA Midwest Regional Qualifying mark. The team of David Schwein, Josef Cooper, Brandon Irabor and Johnny Quinn earned a second place finish in a time of 40.22, the fifth fastest finish in school history.
Deidra Wesley and Ryan Hill notched a one-two finish in the high jump. Wesley, a senior cleared 5-feet-7-inches, while Hill, a junior, managed a leap of 5-feet-5-inches.
The men managed just as well in the high jump, with Mark Lee bringing home gold. The junior hit a mark of 6-feet-8-3/4-inches and now holds the team’s top three jumps of the season.
In one of the deepest fields of the season, Ryan Roberson managed the team’s season best 100-meter dash times. The sophomore finished ninth, but his time of 10.57 missed the regional qualifying mark by seven-hundredths of a second.
The Mean Green takes a week off before returning to action on April 22 in
