Edwards Clears 7-Foot Mark, Leads NT At Twilight Invitational

“It’s a huge accomplishment for Toby,” said head coach Rick Watkins. “He continues to get better and better with every meet. We’re going to depend on him heavily at the Sun Belt Championships, so it’s good to see him peaking at the right time.”

Three Mean Green women tracksters posted regional qualifying marks. Alysha Adams edged out Julie Pickler and teammate Lauren Wiggins for a first place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. Adams, a freshman from
Brandi Stanfield tallied a season-best leap of 20-04.25 to take home top honors in the women’s long jump. Stanfield, who had already regionally qualified in the long jump, improved her previous qualifying mark by five inches.
“It’s encouraging to see that we are continuing to post numerous qualifying marks every meet,” Watkins said. “It’s even better to see that a lot of our athletes qualifying are amongst the top 10 in the region.”
