Mean Green Wraps Up Final Day Of Texas Tech Invitational

Day 1 Wrapup
LUBBOCK, Texas (1/23/10) - The Mean Green track & field team completed their second indoor meet of the season Saturday afternoon at the Texas Tech Invitational.
Once again, sophomore sprinter Keyth Talley stole show by placing second in the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.30. Talley advanced to the finals after winning his heat with a mark of 6.31. He was joined in the finals by senior sprinter Byron Washington, who ran a 6.48.
Steven White, a freshman from Killeen, TX earned his first top-10 finish of his career by placing ninth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.96.
On the women's side three sprinters advanced to the finals in the 55-meter dash, led by junior Brittani Simmons, who placed fifth in the finals with a time of 7.10. She was joined by Missy Barnes (7th-7.14) and Brittany Blaylock (9th-7.18).
North Texas will now have a week off before returning to Lubbock once again on Saturday, Feb. 6 for the Texas Tech Open.
