Green Gang: Ortiz Making History

Carlos Ortiz continues his amazing run as he captured another individual golf title this week in the Alamo city. That's two in a row for Ortiz. What's amazing is that hasn't been done at North Texas in, well.....I'm still looking.
Records can be sometimes very sketchy as the years move by, but Ortiz is the first to do it in at least 25 years, possibly ever, but recorded history might not ever reveal that secret.
One thing is for sure, Ortiz, ranked 105th in the nation before this tournament by Golfweek, will be the first top-100 golfer for North Texas since the individual rankings began. Kudos to the young man from Mexico.
Speaking of the golf rankings, the men fell to 26th in the nation according to Golfstat but remain in the Top 25 in the Golfweek rankings coming in at No. 23.
