Mean Green Track Nabs Two Sun Belt Weekly Honors

Freshman Justin Anderson was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week and junior Brittani Simmons was named the Co-Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Anderson paced the Mean Green men's team with two second place finishes.
His 200-meter dash tie of 21.14 seconds is good enough for first in the Sun Belt Conference and fourth in the NCAA.
In the 100-meter dash, Anderson posted a wind-aided 10.22, which is also good for best time in the Sun Belt Conference so far this season.
Simmons brought home a first and second place finish from the Horned Frog Invitational.
The junior ran on the 4 x 100 meter relay that posted a 45.27 second time which is good enough for sixth in the NCAA and first in the Sun Belt.
She also finished second in the 200-meter dash with a Sun Belt best 23.82 second time.
North Texas Track & Field will be back in action Saturday, March 27 in Arlington, Texas for the Arlington Invitational.
