As many of you can see from the time lapse camera, progress on the stadium continues at a rapid pace. The most noticeable change can be seen on the west side of the stadium on beams that look like steps. The gurus in charge call those rakers.
The rakers are a very important piece of the bleachers. They are responsible for holding the concrete that will eventually have the bleacher seats on them. So... no rakers... no seats. The construction crews are moving a rate of approximately two rakers per week. That's an impressive pace.
And speaking of the crew, the number of workers out on the site averages around 200 a day, sometimes more, sometimes less depending upon the project that needs completion.
In today's photo album you will be able to see some of the other progress that has been made on the west side of stadium. Closer pictures will give you a better perspective that may not be obtained by the online camera.
You will also find another milestone that has been accomplished this week. The concrete block for the first restroom and concession stand is now being erected on the west concourse. Stay tuned for more updates on MeanGreenSports.com for another possible stadium treat later today or early next week.
