This year North Texas has finished first at the UTA/Waterchase Invitational, second at the William Tucker and third at the Lone Star Invitational. Brad Stracke has quickly helped North Texas climb the rankings, as the Mean Green ended the fall No. 29 in the country. North Texas had a head-to-head record of 38-3 in the fall, but faced only one team in the top 25. Now Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech are all ranked above the Mean Green at the start of the spring season. North Texas is ranked No. 29, Texas No. 7, Texas A&M No. 10, and Texas Tech No. 21.
In case you're wondering North Texas is other polls was as high as No. 3 in the nation and did record a win over then No. 1 Pepperdine at New Mexico
Keep in mind that just two years ago the team was just being introduced to a stranger from Florida. That stranger, Brad Stracke, has shown how quick a turnaround can happen with the right guy calling the shots. Or hitting them in this case.
The gap is so narrow though, the Mean Green has a chance to prove it on the course once the spring season starts.
