Brown, Reese and Alexander Set to Attend American Kickoff July 23-24

Pair of fifth-year players set to represent the Mean Green in Tampa, Florida
DENTON, Texas – Under first-year head coach Neal Brown, the UNT football program has announced its attendees for the American Kickoff in Tampa, Florida at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront July 23-24.
The Mean Green will be sending LB Aaron Alexander and TE Max Reese along with Brown as representatives for the Mean Green.
Coach Brown is set to address the media in a formal setting at his press conference at 10:20 AM on Friday on ESPN+. Both players will appear on the studio show starting at 10:00 AM also on ESPN+.
Alexander, a fifth-year transfer from Arkansas State, is set to play a large part in the UNT defense in 2026. Last season with the Red Wolves, Alexander racked up 91 tackles while also logging 3.0 TFLs and an interception. Alexander, who also spent time at Michigan State and UMass, has over 100 career tackles and has appeared in 40 games in his collegiate career.
Reese, also a fifth-year player, joined the Mean Green in January after spending the 2025 season at Mississippi State. Reese started his career at Eastern Michigan and has played in 32 games in his career while racking up 31 catches for 241 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Reese figures to be a big factor as both a blocker and a receiver for the UNT offense this fall.
Fans are once again invited to take part in the annual event. Twenty-eight student-athletes are set to attend the Kickoff, which will be held in St. Petersburg for the first time. Media sessions begin at 11 a.m. ET Thursday, continuing Friday morning with press conferences with all 14 head coaches. Commissioner Tim Pernetti will deliver remarks on Friday at 8:05 a.m. ET.
Student-athletes and coaches will also be available for breakout sessions at specified times Friday and upon request during their Thursday-afternoon block.
Fans can experience the Kickoff in person with access to press conferences, photo opportunities and meet-and-greets with players and coaches.
