Adams And Hayter Win At J.D. Martin Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. -Alysha Adams and Reggie Hayter each won an event on Saturday afternoon as the Mean Green wrapped up its second indoor meet of the season, the J.D. Martin Invitational.
Adams, who entered the meet with to No. 10 time in the nation in the 60-meter hurdles, topped the rest of the field in 8.40 seconds, edging Oklahoma's Latoya Greaves by .005 seconds in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles.
RESULTS
Hayter nabbed the top-spot in a race for the first time this season as he captured to 600-yard run in 1:12.88, almost a second faster than the second place finisher.
In the high jump, two athletes had a good showing. First on the men's side, Jermaine Jamison took second place in the meet when he cleared 2.05-meters, just .05 meters behind the eventual winner.
The women's heat saw sophomore Haley Thompson haul in a fourth place finish after topping the 1.65 meter height.
Freshman Sarah Vann continued to impress as she claimed another top-five finish after vaulting over the pole vault height of 3.60 meters.
Jack-of-all-trades man Jordan Wehr had a good running of the 60-meter hurdles when he took third place in 8.44 seconds. Wehr is normally the heptahtlete for the Mean Green during the indoor season, and is currently ranked No. 1 in the conference in the heptathlon.
Rounding out the rest of the top-five finishers was Missy Barnes in the 60-meter dash (7.53 seconds) and Matt Russ, who took third in the mile run (1:56.87).
North Texas will be back in action Feb. 5, when it travels to Lubbock, Texas, to take part in the Texas Tech Invitational.
