No.32- Ted Wright
A year after winning the first conference title in school history, North Texas followed that up with back-to-back titles as they captured the 1932 Lone Star Conference title thanks to quarterback Ted Wright.
1932 represented the first player to ever be named All-American at North Texas as Wright was named a Grantland Rice All-American.
As told by the old yearbook the "Yucca" the following describes the old "eagle barker."
"Wright was a sensational Eagle signal barker and triple-threat artist who received the greatest honor of anyone in the conference probably, being named by Grantland Rice on his "Forgotten Men" team. On this team, picked by the eminent sports writer, the local boy was named as quarterback. Rice picked this squad in order that men who played on small, obscure teams, but who were of the highest caliber, might receive some recognition. Wright was the only man chosen on this team out of the entire Southwest."
