UNT Athletic Director one of three American Conference Athletic Directors honored
DENTON, Texas – UNT Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley has been named one of Silver Waves Media Top ADs in America, the organization announced Monday.
Mosley, who is in his fourth year at the helm of UNT Athletics, was recognized by Silver Waves Media for his remarkable efforts that include a record-breaking football season, the completion of fundraising for expansion of phase one of the UNT Athletic Center, a record-high grade-point average in the spring of 2026 and never seen before levels of exposure for UNT athletics.
"I am truly honored and humbled to be recognized by Silver Waves Media," Mosley said. "This recognition reflects the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and the entire community who work tirelessly every day to pursue excellence. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside such outstanding people, and I share this honor with everyone who contributes to the success of our programs."
Mosley joins Memphis' Ed Scott and Tommy McClelland from Rice as one of just three ADs in the American Conference to be honored on the list. In addition, former UNT Athletic Director Wren Baker was also recognized.
In 2025-26, North Texas continued its strong trajectory under Mosley with the second-best win percentage in the American Conference across all team sports. The Mean Green won a pair of conference titles in women's indoor track and field as well as diving in 2025-26 while also setting a school record with 12 wins on the football field.
In the 2025 football season, the Mean Green earned a spot in the American Conference title game for the first time in program history and won the Isleta New Mexico Bowl, the program's first bowl win since the 2014 Heart of Dallas Bowl. In addition, UNT sold out DATCU Stadium for the first time in its contest against South Florida and set a school record with an average home attendance of 24,493.
In the classroom, North Texas had the highest spring semester GPA in history of 3.48. The Mean Green had success across the board with every team on campus earning above a 3.20 semester GPA and a cumulative GPA over a 3.0. It was just the second time in program history UNT met those marks across the board as a department. In addition, 10 teams posted both semester and cumulative GPAs over a 3.4.
Mosley was also instrumental in finishing fundraising for Phase One of the expansion of the UNT Athletic Center, including securing the largest gift in program history of over $4 million from Tom and Kristy Weger for the Weger Family Strength and Conditioning Center which broke ground in May of 2026.
UNT also renamed its soccer and track and field stadium to Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium under his direction in March of 2026.
