Sirles Tabbed Sun Belt Athlete of the Week

DENTON, Texas - North Texas track & field's Aaron Sirles was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Week the Sun Belt Conference announced Wednesday.
Sirles took home a second place finish in the shot put at the Red Raider Open on Saturday, tossing a personal best 16.89m. That throw was good enough to vault the junior into third on the Sun Belt Conference Performance List.
He also finished fifth in the weight throw, with a throw spanning 15.79 meters.
The award was the first of Sirles' career and the third a North Texas athlete has received this season.
Mean Green track & field will be back in action at the Iowa State Classic on Thursday.
