White Advances at US Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore. - Junior Steven White advanced to the semi-finals of the US Olympic Trials in the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday evening at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field.
White, who entered the meet with the 15th fastest qualifying time at 50.07 seconds, raced through a cold drizzle to the 13th fastest time in the first round at 50.80 seconds.
The Mean Green junior must be among the top eight finishers in the semi-finals to advance to Sunday evenings final with an Olympic berth on the line.
The semi-finals will begin Friday afternoon at 5:35 p.m. CT and will be aired on the NBC Sports Network.
