DENTON — The Mean Green Basketball Coaches Show returns Monday at noon, live from Rudy's BBQ in Denton.
North Texas' head men and women's basketball coaches, Grant McCasland and Jalie Mitchell, along with different student-athletes every week will join Dave Barnett at the radio show, which airs on KNTU 88.1 FM and KHYI 95.3 FM.
Fans are encouraged to join the teams from Rudy's as it will be an opportunity to hear live and meet the coaches and student-athletes following their weekly conference games.Â
The men's basketball team is off to its first 14-1 start since the 1952-53 season and is one win shy of setting the school-record for best start after they beat Louisiana Tech 63-59 at home on Saturday. Under second-year head coach McCasland, North Texas has had one of the best turnarounds in the nation and has won 19 of its last 21 games dating back to last year.
With eight wins already, the women's basketball team is on pace to increase its win total from the previous season for a fourth straight year under fourth-year head coach Mitchell. The team is on a four-game winning streak and on Thursday beat LA Tech on the road for the first time in program history.Â
The Mean Green Basketball Coaches Show is an hour long show and runs every Monday through March 11.Â
Rudy's BBQ in Denton is located at 520 S Interstate 35E in Denton.
