DENTON - North Texas student-athletes posted a departmental cumulative grade-point average of 3.04 in the 2019 spring semester and 11 teams had a GPA of 3.0 or better, the athletic department announced Friday.
The cumulative GPA increased from the 3.03 posted in fall 2018.
"I'm proud of our student-athletes' academic performance and appreciate the continued work of our academic support staff," North Texas Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and Director of Athletics Wren Baker said. "It shows that our student-athletes take pride in working as hard in the classroom as they do in their chosen athletic endeavors."
Three Mean Green teams - women's golf, soccer and men's track & field - had their best semester on record.
This spring, 34 student-athletes achieved a GPA of 4.0 and 59% earned a 3.0 or better.
