Adams Earns Academic All-District Distinction

DENTON – Cassidy Adams of North Texas was selected to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as announced Tuesday.
Adams graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in management as part of the Honors College, and is a 4.0 graduate student-athlete with a major in organizational behavior and human resource management. The Conference USA Cross Country and Track and Field All-Academic Team recipient achieved a personal record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:49.27 for sixth place at the C-USA Outdoor Championships May 11 in her final meet competing for the Mean Green. Adams set the stadium record in 2,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 7:07.49 at the Baylor Invitational March 23 and did the same in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:57.99 at North Texas Classic April 6. The Justin native is a member of the President's List and earned the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal.
Adams becomes the third Mean Green to earn the honor as Connor Bey and Susie Kemper were each awarded in 2016.
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes outstanding student-athletes in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
Google Cloud Academic All-America® teams will be announced as following: June 24 (NAIA), June 25 (NCAA Division III), June 26 (NCAA Division II) and June 27 (NCAA Division I).
