Diving Eagle Court Design Wins Fan Vote

DENTON — The Diving Eagle design won the fan vote to determine the Super Pit's new court for the 2019-20 season, the North Texas Athletics Department announced Thursday.
With over 6,500 online and social media votes cast, the Diving Eagle option totaled nearly 54% of the total vote.
The Diving Eagle received more than 61% of the votes through MeanGreenSurvey.com. On social media, however, the Diving Eagle and Battle Flag designs were much closer. On Instagram, Diving Eagle won with 55% of the votes, and on Twitter it won with 51% of the votes with the Battle Flag design coming in a close second.
The Battle Flag design was a clear second-place finisher in the voting, combining to have just over 24% of the vote on all platforms. The Light the Tower design had about 15 of the collective votes.
Athletic department staff are very thankful to all of those who chose to participate in last week's fan poll. We received a significant number of great comments and ideas that may lead to some small modifications to the final Diving Eagle design to be unveiled later this fall.
The men's and women's basketball programs are coming off a combined 39-28 record in 2018-19, which was the second-straight season both programs finished with winning records.
