Scott Earns Back-To-Back Honors

DALLAS – Aneesa Scott of North Texas was again selected as the Conference USA Female Track Athlete of the Week after setting another indoor record at the Red Raider Invitational hosted by Texas Tech Jan. 24.
Scott clocked a 53.86 in the 400-meter dash for third place to upset the 54.49 recorded by Ciara Smith in 2011. Scott's time is tops in C-USA and ranks as the 16th fastest in the nation.
Last week at the Ted Nelson Invitational hosted by Texas A&M, the junior from Garland set a North Texas and meet record in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.64.
This is Scott's second such honor and the third in North Texas history. Alia Holmes earned the first distinction during the 2019 season.
