Our student-athletes know that was for them, and when we bring them here and we talk about how committed we are to their personal growth and development, that's tangible evidence of that.Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker

Mean Green athletics broke ground on the Lovelace and McNatt Families Indoor Practice Facility on September 29, 2018 and opened the facility on Oct. 1, 2019.
This state-of-the-art, multi-sport facility allows North Texas athletics to maximize student-athlete safety and time efficiency across several of its programs, as well as provide flexibility for other events.
The Lovelace and McNatt Families Practice Facility is located off South Bonnie Brae Street, adjacent to the Athletic Center and the Victory Hall dorm, and features:
- A temperature-controlled environment for practice during inclement and hot weather
- Elevated photography/videography platforms
- A football field and track running lanes
- A lobby, restrooms and a lounge for entertaining recruits

There's really three things about the facility that I would say I love. One is [that] we do have a recruiting lounge off the side of it. Being here in DFW, we have a lot of camps with a lot of prospects that come through and so when the rules permit, it gives us a chance to pull people aside and tell them a little more about the University of North Texas and our athletic program. I think the second thing I'm real excited about is the branding presence of it. We talk in our facilities master plan about being a billboard. Those Mean Green letters on the side of that building are 24-feet tall, and they light up at night. The last thing I'm really excited about is that this is the only construction project I've ever been involved with that from the start to the finish, we really didn't cut anything out.Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker
