UNT Ready for Howard on Thursday Night
11/10/2021 4:45:00 PM | Women's Basketball
DENTON, Texas – The North Texas women's basketball team is looking to finish the home stand out strong when they take on the Howard University Bison in the Super Pit on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. (CT). The game will stream on ESPN+. It will also be available on KNTU 88.1 FM with Zac Babb on the mic.
The Mean Green are coming off an offensive explosion where they put up 93 points on the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Tuesday night. The 93 points broke a school record for the most points scored in a regular season opener.
QUOTING HEAD COACH MITCHELL
"Howard is a lot different from USAO. They are aggressive in the paint and on the glass. It will be important for us to defend better than what we did on Tuesday. I thought we had some moments where our defensive rotations weren't as good as they could be. Our help defense wasn't there when we needed it to be so, that's something we want to improve on. The less mistakes we make with the ball, the better off we will be because Howard brings more on ball pressure. Our team defense, taking care of the ball, and our rebounding will be big keys for us on Thursday night."
