"Our energy has been great to start," head coach Jalie Mitchell said. "Our press has worked really well for us. We've been really active with our hands and our movement."
"Our press opened everyone up," Noble said. "With Jaz playing the front line it helps us get tips, and that gets us those easy buckets."

Seven straight Southern Miss points made it a one-point contest before Tommisha Lampkin converted a layup to put the Mean Green up 35-32 at the break.
"When we substitute we can't lose energy and sometimes we do," Mitchell said. "We're working on making sure everyone off the bench matches that energy. We'll be fine when we get to that point."
North Texas who came out striking in the third with 12 unanswered points to pull ahead, 47-32. The Lady Eagles were limited to two field goals in the period, and a Lampkin layup and Boyd 3-pointer closed the quarter with the Mean Green up, 57-36.
