Mean Green Outdoor Preview: Vaults and Jumps

DENTON – Bailey Ashmore began competition for North Texas track and field in 2017 and has since been an integral member of the pole vault team by establishing the indoor and outdoor school records along with several all-conference accolades.
Joining her in the UNT record books is Brock Hottel who set the top indoor pole vault height two years ago as a freshman. This past indoor season, Hottel, Cody Bullard and Michael Gonzalez each registered the second-best mark in Conference USA.
At the 2019 C-USA Outdoor Championships, Sydney Salinas earned runner-up honors with a lifetime best vault and most recently had the fifth-highest mark indoors amongst C-USA competitors.
In high jump, Charlotte Kerr and Megan Palu will compete on the women's side, and Clayton Brewer will look to build off of his seventh-place finish at the indoor championships.
Kerr will also take part in long jump alongside Glenquioa Hardy.
This week each of the event groups (distance, throws, sprints and vaults jumps) were highlighted in a lead-up to the outdoor season opener March 20 at the TCU Invitational.
