DENTON – The 2019-20 season for North Texas women's basketball was one of learning, growing and building. The team faced many challenges while finishing the year with a record of 12-19 and an early first round exit from the Conference USA Tournament.
With last year's talented freshmen a year wiser and four impactful transfers suited up in 2020-21, the Mean Green have exceeded the expectations set by those who projected them to finish eighth in the conference preseason poll. UNT opened up league play with five straight wins to establish a new program record, topped the previous program-best for C-USA victories by two and achieved double-digit wins for just the sixth time in the 38 years of playing a conference schedule.
North Texas hopes to continue the unprecedented success and make a statement during this year's Conference USA Tournament as a three-seed in the West Division.
Season 7 of Beyond the Green is presented by Marty B's.
