
Academic Success Continues for Mean Green

DENTON -- North Texas student-athletes combined for a 3.08 grade point average in the spring 2021 semester, marking five straight semesters where they collectively earned a GPA over 3.0. The 350 student-athletes also posted a 3.1 GPA for the 2020-21 academic year.
The Conference USA champion women's golf team led the way for all Mean Green teams, posting a team GPA of 3.74 in the spring semester. Every member of the women's golf team had a GPA of 3.5 or better. Eight of the 14 teams improved their GPA from the fall to the spring and 11 of the 14 teams finished with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
There were 77 student-athletes who graduated during the 2020-21 academic year, including 56 during the spring semester. The President's list honored 53 student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA while another 74 were on the Dean's List (3.5-3.99) and an additional 97 on the Honor Roll (3.0-3.49).
The women's volleyball team has the longest streak going with 20 consecutive semesters of having a team GPA of 3.0 or better. Tennis is close behind with 19.
