Tan Leads Way For UNT Women To Open Schooner

NORMAN, Okla. - The UNT women's golf team opened play at The Schooner Fall Classic on Sunday at the Belmar Golf Club and is tied for 12th with Houston after 36 holes of play.
The Mean Green shot a 295-292 in the first two rounds on Sunday and are well within striking distance to move into the top half of the leaderboard in Monday's final round.
UNT was led by senior Audrey Tan, the defending Conference USA champion, who shot a 69-72 to put herself at 1-over par heading into the final round tied for 13th, just three shots back of a tie for second place. Senior Katie Finley, playing in her home state, shot an even-par 70 in the second of two rounds Sunday and is at 4-over for the tournament and in a tie for 24th.
The Mean Green will be paired with UTSA and Tulsa for Monday's final round and will tee off from the 10th hole beginning at 9:40 a.m., with Shreya Pal, going in 10-minute intervals and closing with Tan at 10:20 a.m.
