Tennis to Play Spring Home Opener

DENTON – Mean Green Tennis embarks on a two-game stent at home. They will first take on New Mexico State on Friday at 2:00 P.M. CT followed by a match against Lamar at noon CT on Sunday.
The Mean Green are on a two-game winning streak, most recently beating Arkansas State at a neutral site. Freshman Jasmine Adams is on a two-game win streak in the number one spot in singles play. She and doubles partner Lucie Devier are undefeated this spring season.
"With each match we are gaining confidence and building momentum. The good thing is this team is doing the right things in practice and focused on the process." Said head coach Sujay Lama. "Our team is super excited to play at home. It's extra special to have our family, friends and fans come out and give us that extra motivation to put in a great effort."
New Mexico is coming off a couple of losses to open their spring season. They faced Pac-12's Arizona falling 0-4 after falling to Colorado State 1-6 the day before.
Lamar is on their second game of the spring after facing Rice on Tuesday with a loss of 6-1. Sophomore Elena Rubio won her match in a third set tiebreaker.
