
Volleyball Looks to Rebound Against LA Tech

DENTON, Texas – UNT volleyball welcomes LA Tech to the North Texas Volleyball Center for a conference match on Sunday at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (8-11, 2-2) return home after dropping a pair of five-set losses to conference opponents. The home contest against No. 22 Rice on Friday, September 30 drew a crowd of 731 which was the second-largest home attendance in UNT history.
Senior libero Aleeyah Galdeira moved into fifth place on the UNT career digs list during the meeting versus Rice. She enters Sunday's match with 1,163 from her four years at North Texas. Galdeira is enjoying a career-best season, leading C-USA with 325 digs and is 14th in the nation.
Treyaunna Rush, Sh'Diamond Holly and Aryn Johnson led the scoring for the Mean Green with 99.5 of the team's 152 total points across 10 sets. Rush currently holds a 13-match streak of double-digit kills and has reached the mark in 16 of 19 matches this season. Holly is currently ranked 17th in the NCAA with a .416 hitting percentage. Johnson has recorded double-digit point totals in five of the last six matches, topping out with 20-point performances against Montana St. and Rice.
The Lady Techsters (9-10, 2-2) split two road conference contests before sweeping Jackson St. on Wednesday. Sophomore libero McKenzie Johnson leads her team into the match with 4.17 digs per set and 31 aces after being named Second Team All-Conference USA last season. Outside hitter Andrea Spasojevic leads the team with 179 kills, 212 points and a .964 reception percentage.
All-time, the Mean Green are 21-12 against the Lady Techsters with a 17-0 record since joining C-USA in 2013. UNT has not lost to LA Tech at home since 2002.
