
Volleyball to Open C-USA Tournament on Friday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – UNT volleyball is set for a Conference USA quarterfinal matchup with UAB at 2 p.m. CT on Friday at E.A. Diddle Arena on the campus of WKU. All matches of the C-USA Championship will be streamed on ESPN+.
North Texas (15-14, 9-5) will make its 13th consecutive conference tournament appearance in its final season of C-USA play before moving to The American in 2023.
The Mean Green enter on a three-match winning streak after collecting sweeps over Middle Tennessee, UAB and Charlotte, respectively. In this stretch, Treyaunna Rush has collected a team-high 51 kills on 102 attacks at a .333 clip, adding 11 blocks.
Middle blocker Sh'Diamond Holly enters the match seventh in the nation at 145 total blocks and 23rd with an average of 1.34 blocks per set, leading C-USA in each category. In UNT history, she is fifth for her single-season mark in total blocks, needing seven for sole possession of fourth place. She also ranks third all-time with 117 block assists and will move into second place with three assisted stops.
The Blazers (12-14, 7-7) finished its regular season schedule with a 3-1 loss at UTEP on Sunday. UNT holds a 9-4 advantage over UAB, winning the last three meetings including a three-set victory in Denton on Thursday. The Mean Green dominated the senior night sweep, holding its opponents to 31 kills on 79 attacks while only suffering two blocks.
