UNT set to take on the Bison looking to stop three-game losing skid
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 16, 2022) – After an 11-day hiatus from the court, North Texas returns to action Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C. as they take on Howard in the fourth game of its seven-game road trip.
It will be just the second all-time meeting between these two schools with the first coming a season ago when the Mean Green took down the Bison 84-58 inside the Super Pit on Dec. 3, 2021.
UNT will be looking to get back on track before C-USA play starts as they come into the matchup having lost six of their last seven games.
Howard heads into the matchup 3-7 overall with wins over La Salle, American and Elon thus far this season. The Bison have played one other C-USA team this season, a 76-65 loss on the road at FIU.
Quick Hitters
- Senior Quincy Noble leads UNT offensively with 18.0 points per game this season, a figure that ranks second in Conference USA. Noble has scored in double figures in each of the last seven games for North Texas, including a 16-point performance last time out against SMU.
- Noble, a senior out of McKinney, Texas, has 933 points at UNT in her career, needing just 77 more to become the 15th player in program history to reach 1,000 points in their time with the Mean Green.
- Junior forward Tommisha Lampkin has been one of the top post players in C-USA, leading the league in both blocks and rebounds per game this season.
- UNT has been one of the top teams in the country at defending the 3-point line thus far this season. Through eight games, the Mean Green are holding opponents to just 25.4 percent from beyond the arc, a mark that ranks 40th in all of Division I.
- After playing five of their first six games at home, UNT travels on the road for seven consecutive road contests starting with the Nov. 29 matchup vs. UTA. The Mean Green will not play at home from Nov. 28-Jan. 4 before they return to the Super Pit to play WKU on Jan. 5, 2023.
- The stretch of seven straight games away from home is the longest such string since UNT played eight straight outside of the Pit from 2010-11.
